My review of “Ever”

Recently I signed up for a program that HarperCollins publishing company is doing called First Look. It is basically where you sign up to review a book that has yet to be published, and if they choose you, they send you an Advance Reader’s Edition so you can read it, and then write them a review. I think it was a fabulous deal, even if there were a few typing errors in it. It sure beats buying it new for $12. Here is the review I wrote for it:

When I received this book in the mail, I promptly sat down and read the whole thing that afternoon! This is quite an exciting book, as all of Gail Carson Levine’s Fantasy books have been. The only complaint I had was a bit of inappropriate humor in the third chapter, but other than that, I thought it was a wonderfully engaging book.

I considered using the word “bawdy” (which is actually a word used in the book itself), but since this review was intended for the age group that probably wouldn’t know what that word meant without looking it up, I used “inappropriate humor” instead. I will not say on here what the bawdy joke was, since I would be too embarrassed to see it on my blog. I wish she hadn’t put it in there. It was absolutely unnecessary. But once I got past that, the rest of the book was very exciting, and I enjoyed it immensely. I don’t know if I’m allowed to publish their little blurb about it, so I’ll just give you the link here. Once it comes out it May, you ought to be able to find it at your library, and if you can’t, shame on them.

Happy reading to all!
